An aerial driver operator died Monday night after his plane crashed into a home on the Southside, officials said.
The pilot was in the backseat when it crashed near the intersection of West Washington Street and East Washington Street in the city’s Little Italy neighborhood, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
No one else was injured.
A person who answered the phone at the property said it had been broken into.
Police said they were still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
The operator, identified as Tony R. Paz, 62, of Hilo, was an operator of aerial aerial flight operations in the Honolulu area, according a release from the Honolulu police.
The cause of his death was under investigation, police said.
He was a member of the National Aerial Driver Association.
