A Travista aerial tram operation operator has died after colliding with a train near the airport, according to a police report.
The incident happened in the city’s east on Friday, a police spokesperson said.
Travisteam Travis, who worked as an operator for the company, had just returned from a meeting when the train collided with him, according a statement by the regional police force.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Aerial tram operator Travismyle Travissime died in an accident in the eastern district of Brest,” the police statement said.
“The cause of death has not yet been determined.”
The train that collided with Travistsyla was a commuter train, which was heading towards the airport and would have been a popular tourist destination.
A spokeswoman for the local railway, Metro Paris, said that the train had been carrying a passenger who was also an operator.
Tarnopol, the regional transport minister, said he was “deeply saddened” by the accident and was working with the authorities to investigate the cause of the crash.
Transport Minister Laurent Aussi said the accident was a tragic incident, adding that the railway would be looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash and taking action if needed.
Transport Minister Laurent Ciot-Marie said that an investigation into the crash was under way.
“It is also under investigation,” he said in a statement.
