Fox Sports has launched an ambitious digital initiative to create a ‘one-stop shop’ for video-game fans.
In a statement, the sports network said it would launch the video-gaming-centric channel in the first half of next year and would be aiming to provide a ‘global service’ for gamers.’
The new video-games-centric content will be delivered across the web and across multiple platforms, including mobile, TV, and on the internet, as well as in apps and other digital platforms,’ Fox Sports said.’
We’re excited to see what gamers will come up with.’
In addition to offering the content, the network also said it was planning to invest in ‘video-game-related channels that can help drive awareness and promote the best in video games’.’
Fox Sports will be a global destination for gamers and viewers, and we are committed to providing a dedicated and interactive online experience for our gamers,’ FoxSports said.
The launch comes as many gaming brands have become more concerned about video- game violence, particularly online.
Earlier this year, Major League Gaming said it had banned thousands of players from its servers after the league received a report of an online rape threat.
